SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock High School junior Ian Balquist has been named District 10, Region 6 Pitcher of the Year.

Balquist was 6-1 with a 1.95 earned run average. He had 57 strikeouts and 20 walks in 43 innings pitched.

Also an outfielder, Balquist hit ,357 for the Rockets and made all-region as a position player. Other Slippery Rock players named first team all-region are junior catcher David Duffalo, sophomore outfielder Alex Duffalo and junior utility player Zach Caldwell.

Senior pitcher Mason Hildebrand made second team.
