Butler VA appoints interim director
An insider is taking the helm at the VA Butler Health Care System to serve as the interim director.
Sharon Coyle will serve as the new director after Jon Lasell Jr. stepped down from the position on June 14 to take care of his 90-year-old father in Texas. Lasell became director in October.
“My top priority has always been and will always be the highest quality of care and service to our veterans,” Coyle said in a prepared statement.
According to the statement, Coyle has been with the organization since 2005 and she began her career in 1999 as a nursing student in VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. Most recently, she was the associate director for patient care services, a role she started in April 2007.
A request for comment was not immediately returned and it’s unclear for how long Coyle will hold the position or if she is being considered to hold the role permanently.
