SENTENCINGS

Judge William Shaffer handed down the following sentences on Thursday:

Gregory Geibel, 44, of Slippery Rock was sentenced to six months to one year in jail for deceptive business practices. Geibel was charged on Dec. 21 and pleaded guilty on May 1. As an inmate of Butler County Prison, Geibel received credit for time already served.

Mark Allen Watt, 46, who has no known home address, was sentenced to one to five years in jail for driving under the influence. Watt has been held in the Butler County Prison for 421 days and Shaffer granted him credit for time already served, allowing Watt to be immediately paroled. Watt must also pay a $1,500 fine. Watt was charged on Aug. 17, 2016, and pleaded guilty on June 4. In a second case, Watt was sentenced to six months of probation for disorderly conduct. Watt was charged on Aug. 24, 2018, and pleaded guilty on June 4. In a third case, Watt was sentenced to six months of probation for defiant trespass. He was charged on Sept. 6, 2015, and pleaded guilty on June 4. In a fourth case, Watt was sentenced to five to 10 months in jail for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He received credit for time already served and was immediately paroled. Watt was charged on Sept. 29, 2015, and pleaded guilty on June 4.

Adam Errett, 25, of Freedom was sentenced to two years of probation for simple assault. Errett must also serve 25 hours of community service. Errett was charged on June 6, 2018, and pleaded guilty on May 1.

Karen Verheyen, 51, of West Sunbury was sentenced to two years of probation and must pay a restitution order to Walmart for retail theft. Verheyen was charged on Feb. 14 and pleaded guilty on May 20.

Renea Lynn Bagdan, 45, of Sarver was sentenced to six months of intermediate punishment with the first 14 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring. Bagdan was charged on Jan. 4, 2017, and pleaded guilty on May 20.

Jeramiah Vaughn Cubarney, 29, of Gibsonia was sentenced to 18 months of probation and must pay a restitution order for theft by deception. Cubarney was charged on Oct. 31, 2017, and pleaded guilty on May 20.

Katie Marie Defonde, 33, of Ellwood City was sentenced to 72 hours to six months in jail for driving under the influence. Defonde was given credit for time already served and was immediately paroled. She must also pay a $1,000 fine and serve 100 hours of community service. Defonde was charged on June 28, 2017, and pleaded guilty on Jan. 18.

Zaquan Ali Jeter, 23, of Rochester, Pa., was sentenced to three years of intermediate punishment with the first 30 days in jail for possessing a firearm not to be carried without a license. After finishing his jail time, he will serve the next 11 months of the sentence on house arrest with electronic monitoring and the rest of his sentence will be served as regular probation. Jeter was charged on Sept. 30 and pleaded guilty on April 3. In a second case, Jeter was sentenced to 72 hours to six months in jail for driving under the influence. Jeter must also serve 75 hours of community service. The sentence runs at the same time as his firearm’s sentence. Jeter was charged on Aug. 7, 2017, and pleaded guilty on April 3.

Corey Talley, 28, of Pittsburgh was sentenced to 72 hours to six months in jail for driving under the influence and careless driving. Talley received credit for time already served, allowing him to be immediately paroled. Talley must also pay $1,025 in fines and serve 60 hours of community service. Talley was charged on March 28, 2018, and pleaded guilty on April 3.

Tammy S. Roberts, 56, of Saxonburg was sentenced to six months of intermediate punishment with the first 14 days on hours arrest with electronic monitoring for driving under the influence and careless driving. Roberts must also pay $1,025 in fines and serve 60 hours of community service. Roberts was charged on Feb. 19 and pleaded guilty on May 20.

Joshua Clyde Johnson, 38, of Leechburg was sentenced to one year of intermediate punishment with the first 30 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring. Johnson was charged on Aug. 17 and pleaded guilty on March 12.

John Michael Panyi, 42, of Pittsburgh was sentenced to one year of probation for retail theft and must also pay an order for restitution. Panyi was charged on June 27, 2018, and pleaded guilty on Jan. 16.

Jacob Mayle, 22, of Ellwood City was sentenced to five years of intermediate punishment with the first 105 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring for driving under the influence. Mayle must also pay a $1,500 fine and 100 hours of community service. Mayle was charged on Jan. 9 and pleaded guilty on May 6.

Brian Joseph Miller, 30, of Slippery Rock was sentenced to two years of probation and must pay a restitution order for theft. He was charged on Sept. 6 and pleaded guilty on April 3. In a second case, Miller was sentenced to five years of intermediate punishment with the first 105 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring for driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Miller must also pay a $1,500 fine and serve 100 hours of community service. Miller was charged on Sept. 12 and pleaded guilty on Jan. 28. In a third case, Miller was sentenced to two years of probation and must pay a restitution order for theft.

Steve Alan Luketic Jr., 31, of Clairton was sentenced to six months of intermediate punishment with the first 14 days of house arrest on electronic monitoring for driving under the influence and possessing drug paraphernalia. Luketic must also serve one year of probation, 60 hours of community service and pay a $200 fine. Luketic was charged on July 23 and pleaded guilty on April 5.
