CRANBERRY TWP — Hickman, Williams & Co. has announced that Robert Gray was promoted to president and chief executive officer following the retirement of David H. Gelwicks.

Gray is a 39-year veteran of the company who has held various positions in the Pittsburgh area. He lives with his wife, Janet, in Butler.

Benjamin Rankin was promoted to vice president and director covering the company's southeastern office and plant facility in Birmingham, Ala. He has been in the carbon and coal industry his entire career after having attended the University of Kentucky. He lives with his family in Columbiana, Ala.

Mercer County State Bank has announced that CEO Ray Kaltenbaugh retired June 6 after 50 years of service, and will be replaced by Scott Patton, who was named to the position in January 2018.Kaltenbaugh started his banking career with National City in Meadville and was with the Farmers National Bank of Emlenton before coming to Mercer County State Bank.He has more than 16 years in the banking industry, and has been with Mercer for five of them.Patton also serves as the vice president of The Great Stoneboro Fair, is active in the Grove City Rotary Club and is a member of the Maple Lane Farms Charitable Foundation.Patton lives with his wife, Barb, and three daughters in Fredonia.

NEW YORK — A group of state attorneys general led by New York and California filed a federal lawsuit Tuesday to block T-Mobile's $26.5 billion bid for Sprint, citing consumer harm.The state attorneys general said the promised benefits, such as better networks in rural areas and faster service overall, cannot be verified, while eliminating a major wireless company will immediately harm consumers by reducing competition and driving up prices for cellphone service.From staff and wire reports
