Car bomb set off in Slippery Rock

State police are looking to the public for help in identifying the person who blew up a car in Mercer Township early Friday morning.

According to authorities, a homemade explosive was placed inside an unoccupied vehicle about 1:30 a.m. at a home on Grove City Road in Slippery Rock. The device was then detonated, incinerating the vehicle and causing irreparable damage. No one was injured in the incident.

Authorities are investigating the bombing and asking the public for help with any information regarding this incident or any similar incidents. Anyone with information is asked to call 724-284-8100.
