BUTLER TWP — State police will conduct a free child passenger safety seat check at Sam's Club, located at Moraine Pointe Plaza, from 9 a.m. to noon June 1.

Troopers will explain how to correctly install the seat, correct any errors in the installation and provide information on best practices when it comes to using the seat.

The state police will conduct driving under the influence patrols — roving and stationary — over the upcoming Memorial Day weekend in Butler County.Motorists are advised to be aware of their surroundings and to have their license, registration and insurance cards readily available.Police also encourage motorists to drive sober or get a designated driver, and to use their seat belts. Additionally, drivers are reminded of the steer-clear law, which states that motorists must move over to the lane farthest way from stopped emergency vehicles and slow down if it is not possible to move over.
