POLICE REPORTS

5:31 p.m. May 17 — Two Slippery Rock residents were injured when a deer jumped in front of their 2003 Harley-Davidson Road King on Route 528 in Franklin Township near Grindel Road. Police reports say the driver, Thomas M. Bixler, 71, of Slippery Rock was traveling south and was unable to avoid the deer when it appeared on the road. Police suspect both he and his passenger, Nakisha C. Young, 33, suffered serious injuries in the single-vehicle crash. They were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
