Sentencings

Judge William Shaffer

Judge William Shaffer handed down the following sentences on Thursday:

Shawn Michael Book, 42, of New Castle was sentenced to six to 36 months in jail for criminal trespass — entering a structure. He received credit for time already served and was immediately paroled. Book was charged on July 13, 2015, and pleaded no contest on April 15.

George T. Martin, 18, of Karns City was sentenced to one year of probation and must pay a restitution order for disorderly conduct. Martin was charged on Dec. 4 and pleaded guilty on April 3.

Matthew Jennings Claypoole, 31, of Oakmont was sentenced to five years of intermediate punishment with the first year on house arrest for driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Claypoole must also pay a $2,500 fine and complete a total of 250 hours of community service. He was charged on June 7 and pleaded guilty on Feb. 13.

Robert Alan Hague, 26, of Portersville was sentenced to six months of intermediate punishment with the first 42 days on house arrest for disorderly conduct. Hague received credit for time already served on house arrest. He must also pay a $300 fine, serve 60 hours of community service and serve an extra six months of probation. Hague was charged on June 5 and pleaded guilty on Nov. 26.

Charles James Smouse, 30, of Indiana was sentenced to two years of probation for criminal conspiracy — theft by deception. Smouse was charged on Oct. 25 and pleaded guilty on April 1. In a second case, Smouse was sentenced to a total of two years of probation for five counts of theft by deception. Smouse was charged on Aug. 31 and pleaded guilty on April 1.

Joseph Paul Fulmer, 41, of Butler was sentenced to one year of probation and a $75 fine for possession of a controlled substance. Fulmer was charged on Sept. 20 and pleaded guilty on April 3.

Kelsy N. Lees, 27, of Evans City was sentenced to one year of probation and a restitution order of $16,000 for an accident involving damage to an attended vehicle or property. Lees was charged on Oct. 17 and pleaded guilty on March 11.

Dwayne Smallwood, 40, of Cranberry was sentenced to time served to 18 months in jail for insurance fraud. Smallwood was immediately paroled. He was charged on Nov. 5 and pleaded guilty on May 1.

In a second case, Smallwood was sentenced to six months to one year in jail for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Smallwood received credit for time already served, allowing him to be immediately paroled. He must also serve one year of probation.

Richard Robert Jefferson, 42, of West Sunbury was sentenced to 11-and-a-half to 23 months in jail for failure to comply with counseling. Jefferson was charged on Nov. 2 and pleaded guilty on April 2.

Dennis Robert John Jr., 43, of Butler was sentenced to one year minus one day to two years minus one day in jail for possession of drug paraphernalia and flight to avoid apprehension/trial or punishment. John was charged on Oct. 4 and pleaded guilty on April 3.

Isaiah Harden, 22, of McKeesport was sentenced to one year of probation and a $75 fine for possession of a controlled substance. Harden was charged on March 26 and pleaded guilty on April 4.

Christopher James Levine, 27, of New Bedford was sentenced to five years of intermediate punishment with the first 105 days on house arrest for driving under the influence. Levine must also pay a $1,500 fine and serve 100 hours of community service. Levine was charged on Feb. 6 and pleaded guilty on April 8.

Kelly Christine McCluskey, 32, of Slippery Rock was sentenced to 15 months of probation for retail theft. She was charged on Nov. 21 and pleaded guilty on April 8.

Julian Glenn McFadden, 22, of Slippery Rock was sentenced to 36 months of intermediate punishment with the first 60 days on house arrest. McFadden must also pay a $300 fine. He was charged on Oct. 25 and pleaded guilty on April 3.

Dawn Nicole Tattershall, 38, of Freeport was sentenced to 18 months of probation for recklessly endangering another person and resisting arrest. Tattershall was charged on June 18 and pleaded guilty on April 3.

Honey Jane Walsh, 46, of Petrolia was sentenced to five years of intermediate punishment with the first 105 days on house arrest. Walsh must also serve 100 hours of community service and pay a $1,500 fine. Walsh was charged on Feb. 12 and pleaded guilty on April 8.

Montgomery C. Winchester Jr., 45, of Rochester was sentenced to 36 months of intermediate punishment with the first 105 days on house arrest. Winchester was charged on July 30 and pleaded guilty on April 3.

Cody James White, 28, of Butler was sentenced to 60 days of house arrest, two years of probation and must pay a $500 fine for retail theft and driving with a suspended license. White was charged on Aug. 14 and pleaded guilty on April 9.
