Tuesday — Mark W. Beatty, 61, of Butler was charged with being more than three-and-a-half times the state's legal limit for alcohol in connection with a reported hit-and-run accident May 1 on the 400 block of West New Castle Street.Police said Beatty reportedly struck the back of a car around 1:30 p.m. and then stumbled out of his vehicle. He then walked “unsteadily” up the sidewalk with a woman who had been riding in the car, according to court documents.The defendant and woman entered a nearby building. Police said he denied drinking. The woman, however, contradicted that, documents said. She told them that he had been drinking before he picked her up.Beatty subsequently failed field sobriety tests and he was taken for a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.292 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.He is charged with driving under the influence, hit-and-run and careless driving.1:49 a.m. Monday — Laurie R. Crawford, 37, of Butler was arrested after she allegedly resisted police attempts to arrest her for pubic intoxication outside a home on the 200 block of West Wayne Street.Police went to the home for a reported assault, according to court documents. She appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, and she also was complaining of head pain.Medics were called and police advised her to go to the hospital. Instead, documents said, Crawford cursed loudly at police. When they tried to take her into custody, she is accused of pulling away her hand and spinning out of an officer's grip. Police said they took her to the ground. She allegedly refused to aid police in standing.Crawford was arraigned on charges of resisting arrest and pubic drunkenness. She was later released on $2,000 unsecured bail.Monday — Police arrested Zackary J. Delaney, 20, of Butler in connection with a suspected trespassing incident last month at the Greenview Gardens apartment complex.Delaney was caught around 11:30 a.m. April 22 in the back bedroom of an apartment, according to court documents. Police noted that the defendant had previously been served with a no-trespass order, advising that he was not permitted on the premises.He was arraigned on a charge of trespass and released on his own recognizance.
