April 23 — Police charged an Armstrong County man with being more than twice the state's legal limit for alcohol in connection with a traffic stop earlier in the month in Butler. Brandon A. Norris, 27, of Worthington was stopped April 6 at Route 8 and Pittsburgh Pike for having a faulty headlight.Norris admitted to having consumed alcohol before driving, according to court documents. He showed impairment during field sobriety testing and was taken to the Butler police station for a breath test, which allegedly showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.162 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.He is charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license-DUI related, careless driving and a lighting violation.April 23 — Bret M. Conaway, 28, of Butler Township was charged with DUI after being stopped for speeding in March in Center Township.Police said they were running radar around 1 a.m. March 17 when they clocked him traveling 53 mph in a 35 mph zone on Mercer Road near East Brewster Road.Before he was pulled over, police said, he crossed the yellow line.Conaway acknowledged that he had consumed “a couple drinks” earlier, according to court documents. He was eventually taken for a breath test that indicated his blood-alcohol level was 0.151 percent.He is charged with DUI, speeding, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.April 22 — Michael L. Hutchinson, 23, of Oakland Township is charged with assaulting another man on Baumgart Lane in Oakland Township.He is accused of pushing the man to the ground, and kicking and punching the victim while he was down. Hutchinson is charged with simple assault and harassment.April 18 — Daniel P. Moorehead, 23, of Center Township was charged with drugged driving stemming from a March traffic stop in Butler Township. Police said he was pulled over around 2:35 a.m. March 17 for drifting over the yellow line on Route 8 north and for having a faulty rear light on his sport utility vehicle.Moorehead allegedly admitted to smoking marijuana about an hour earlier. He subsequently failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test.Toxicology results showed he had marijuana and cocaine in his system, according to court documents.In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, Moorehead is charged with disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and a lighting violation.April 17 — Gavin S. Kelly, 23, of Clearfield Township was arraigned on charges that he threatened his girlfriend with knives during an earlier domestic dispute at a home on Caldwell Lane in Clearfield Township. The couple's two young children were also there at the time of the incident around 11 p.m. April 6. No injuries were reported.Kelly was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault, three counts of reckless endangerment and harassment. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail.5:53 a.m. April 16 — No injuries were reported in a head-on crash in Portersville.Police said Alexis R. Tomasovic, 19, of Slippery Rock was driving a car and Donald L. Brown, 48, of Harmony was driving a pickup that collided at Route 19 and West Park Road.Tomasovic was cited for failing to yield the right of way.2:19 a.m. April 14 — Calvin O. Duehart Jr., 34, of Butler was arrested for DUI on East Jefferson Street near Linden Avenue in Butler. He was stopped for a pair of traffic violations.Police said that while performing field sobriety tests, Duehart stopped, telling an officer, “I know I'm done,” according to court documents.He was taken to the barracks for a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.193 percent.Duehart is charged with DUI, disobeying traffic control devices, a stop violation and careless driving.3:13 p.m. April 12 — W.E. Yough, 83, of Chicora was injured when he lost control of his SUV, struck a utility pole and slid sideways into a small tree along Route 68 just west of Eyth Road in Oakland Township.Police said Yough was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with an apparent minor injury. He was wearing a seat belt. His vehicle had to be towed.He was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.1:07 a.m. April 6 — One person was hurt when an SUV driven by Allyssa M. Yocum, 23, of Butler struck an embankment, rolled over and landed on its roof on Glenwood Way just north of Henricks Road in Center Township.Yocum's passenger, Abigail M. Boulanger, 21, of Butler, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with suspected minor injuries. Police cited Yocum for disregarding traffic lanes.

8:15 a.m. April 8 — A teenager was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Slippery Rock Township. The wreck occurred when a car driven by Amelia M. Murphy, 19, of New Castle rear-ended another car that was stopped on Route 19 just north of Muddy Creek Road.Murphy suffered an apparent minor injury. Todd A. Chamberlain, 55, of New Castle was the other driver. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.Police cited Murphy for following too closely to another vehicle.
