Fischer fans 12 as Knoch girls stay unbeaten

Amanda Fischer struck out 12 and tossed a two-hitter Thursday as the Knoch softball team remained undefeated with a 10-0 win over New Castle.

Fischer also contributed three singles as the Knights (9-0, 6-0) put together a 20-hit attack. Bailey Rickenbrode had four singles, Quinn Hughes a double and two singles.

Monica Gourley had three singles and Brynnae Coe homered in the win.

A-C Valley (6-0) banged out 20 hits in five innings Thursday to stay unbeaten. Andrea Meals hit a two-run homer in the contest.

Kelsie Terwilliger had four hits and three RBI. Sydnie Schmidt had three RBI as well.

Girls Lacrosse

Eliza Drohan scored six goals, but Butler dropped a 13-12 decision to Shaler Wednesday night.

Kate Quinlan added four goals for the Golden Tornado while Taryn Thompson and Karolyn Miller added one each. Goalie Morgan Sellers had 11 saves.

Boys Volleyball

Dennis Goodwine had 11 kills, but Butler dropped a tight 3-2 decision at Fox Chapel.

Game scores were 18-25, 25-12, 25-19, 23-25, 12-15. Kaleb Wojnar had 18 assists for the Golden Tornado (5-6, 3-4).

Butler hosts Hempfield Monday.
