Warrant out for running multistate refund theft scheme in Butler Co.

BUTLER TWP — A second Walmart store in Butler County has been identified as the victim of an alleged multistate refund theft scheme.

Butler Township police obtained a felony arrest warrant last week for Breon R. Williams, 25, of Hazelwood, Mo. The suspected con netted more than $5,000.

She is charged with theft by deception and receiving stolen property.

Cranberry Township police have had their own arrest warrant for Williams since September.

Authorities said she has been identified as committing similar crimes last year at Walmarts in four other states as far west as Colorado.

She was arrested Aug. 20, 2018, after attempting a related theft at a Walmart in Manhattan, Kan. It was not immediately known if she is jailed.

The method of Williams' alleged scam recently came to light in Butler Township police's April 12 criminal complaint against her. Surveillance video, said Detective Sgt. David Fish, showed the crime play out.
