Less than a week after a 5-year-old boy was tossed off a third-floor balcony at Mall of America, he continues to make “small steps toward the healing process.”

The boy, whose name is Landen, remained in critical condition at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, an attorney for the family said this week.

Landen sustained “significant injuries” after falling around 40 feet in the April 12 attack, Bloomington Police Chief Jeff Potts said last week. The GoFundMe for him and his family has raised more than $850,000 in five days.

A suspect has been charged in the attack.
