COUNTYButler County Historical Society presents the “Echoes from Our Past Historic Cemetery Walk,” featuring six actors portraying people from the area’s past, plus a yet-to-be-announced moment about Butler’s pride and joy — the Jeep — at 2 p.m. May 18 and 19 at the grounds of the North Side Cemetery. The tour will last about an hour and 45 minutes at the cemetery at 1002 N. Main St. Tickets are $14 for adults and $10 for students ages 10 to 21 and for society members. Visit the society office at the Sen. Walter Lowrie House, 123 W. Diamond St., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays. McKean St., hosts a spring film series “Presenter’s Favorites” featuring the film “The Third Murder,” about a lawyer tasked with defending a client who faces the death penalty if found guilty, on April 25. The final movie “Shoplifters” will be May 3. Films begin at 6 p.m. Admission is free though donations are accepted and reservations are required for the films. Maridon hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays. Museum admission is $4 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and students, and free for children younger than 8 accompanied by an adult. PITTSBURGHHeinz History Center, 1212 Smallman St., has opened “The Vietnam War: 1945-1975.” The Detre Library & Archives at the Sen. John Heinz History Center will present an African American Genealogy Workshop April 27; registration is required at www.heinzhistorycenter.org/events.Children’s Museum, Allegheny Square, will host opening weekend activities April 27 and 28 for Museum Lab, a new exhibit for children age 10 and older that includes Studio Lab, Make Lab and Tech Lab. Continuing are TapeScape 3.0, an art installation/play exhibit which is an indoor climbing, sliding, rolling landscape made of more than 50 miles of packing tape stretched over a two-story steel frame, through May 12, and “Rube Goldberg: The World of Hilarious Invention!” through May 5. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Admission is $16 for adults and $14 for children ages 2 to 18 and senior citizens.
