Dance ticket deadline nears

Tickets are available through April 25 for the Dance with Butler County Celebrities event hosted by the Butler County Symphony.

The contest takes place May 11 at the Days Inn by Wyndham Butler Conference Center, 139 Pittsburgh Road. Doors open at 5 p.m. followed by 6 p.m. dinner and entertainment.

Tickets are $75 for adults and $28 for children younger than 10. Proceeds benefit the symphony and its educational outreach program.

Center plans spring art show

The Butler Art Center will have its spring show April 24 to May 11.

The Art Center at 344 S. Main St. is open regularly 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

3 Rivers Arts Festival in June

From June 7 to 16, the Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival, a free event celebrating music and art, will go on at Point State Park, Gateway Plaza and the Cultural District in Pittsburgh.

Concerts include India Arie on June 7 and Mandolin Orange on June 15.

Annual daffodil event slated

This year’s daffodil show, presented by the Daffodil and Hosta Society of Western Pennsylvania, is slated 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 27 at the Shady Side Academy Senior School Ice Rink, 423 Fox Chapel Road, Pittsburgh. Admission is free.

A variety of daffodils from the Pittsburgh area will be on display.

The group’s next show will be the annual Hosta Show June 1 at Soergel Orchard in Wexford.

Da Vinci weekend set

Carnegie Science Center will celebrate 500 years of the original Renaissance man during “Da Vinci 500 Weekend” May 2 to 5, with demonstrations, a new planetarium show, a community design project, and other activities highlighting his accomplishments in science, art, engineering, and anatomy.

The Da Vinci exhibit has its own admission fee.
