John and Reba Stoops

John and Reba Stoops of Renfrew will celebrate 70 years of marriage later this month with a family dinner.

Stoops married the former Reba McCandless on April 21, 1949, at First United Presbyterian Church in Butler.

They have three children, Glenn Stoops of Butler, Randy Stoops of Renfrew and Vicki Cessna of Santa Ana, Calif.

They also have four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Stoops retired as a maintenance foreman from Armco Steel.He is a member of Victory Lodge 649 Free and Accepted Masons and the New Castle Consistory. He is a World War II U.S. Army Air Force veteran.Mrs. Stoops is a homemaker.The Stoopses are members of Westminster Presbyterian Church in America where Stoops is elder emeritus.

The Stoopses in 1949
