4-run 6th lifts Mars to victory

Teddy Ruffner homered and relief pitcher Alex Heavner delivered a two-run single during a four-run sixth inning as the Mars baseball team defeated South Fayette, 7-3, Wednesday.

J.J. Wetherholt had a pair of doubles, Tyler Kowalkowski two singles and two RBI, Rowan Fletcher a double and single for the Planets (6-3, 1-1).

Ally DeJidas and Tori Radvan homered as Freeport ran away from Derry, 13-2, Wednesday in five innings. The Yellowjackets scored eight runs in the third inning.

DeJidas had four hits and two RBI. Radvan drove in three runs and struck out 11 while pitching a complete game. Madison Shanta had a pair of doubles, Anastazia Herbst a double and single.

Seneca Valley 7, Fox Chapel 2 — Karli Hacker led the Raiders (7-1) with a homer, triple, single and three RBI. Mac Baker added two singles and scored a pair of runs.
