Ryan Gloyer Middle School seventh-grader Lucas Boyle was a winner of the 2019 Joan Jarrett Outstanding Middle Level Student Award for the West Region by the Pennsylvania Association for Middle Level Education.

Students nominated for this award must demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities, good citizenship and positive contributions to their school community.

“The staff at Ryan Gloyer Middle School felt that Lucas was an outstanding young adolescent deserving of this award,” said PAMLE Awards Chair Jessica Good.

Middle level students from all over Pennsylvania are nominated by their teachers, principals or guidance counselors for this special award. Two students from each of PAMLE’s five regions are chosen as recipients.

Lucas was presented with a certificate. In addition, PAMLE will make a $50 contribution in his name to a charity of his choosing.
