Freeport boys track edged by NC, 75-73

North Catholic's Joe Kearney won the 100-meter dash, high jump and long jump to lead the Trojans to boys track victories over Freeport (75-73) and Burrell (88-53) Tuesday afternoon.

Freeport's Conor Selinger won both hurdle events as the Yellowjackets earned a split by defeating Burrell, 106-40.

In the girls' meet, the 'Jackets received wins from Sidney Shemanski in the 200, 400 and 800 as Freeport defeated North Catholic, 103-37, but fell to Burrell, 88-55.

Ian Balquist struck out eight in five innings on the mound to earn the win in Slippery Rock's 10-2 victory over Wilmington.

Shane Thompson led the Rockets' bats with three hits and three RBI. Zack Thompson added two hits and three runs scored for Slippery Rock (3-0).

Lance Cotton pitched four innings to get the win. Isaac Love had three singles, Ethan Sloane a double and triple, Guy DeLeonardis a double and single for Knoch.

Kylee Eaton tallied three hits, including a triple, while driving in three runs and also scoring three times in host A-C Valley's 17-2 win over Keystone in three innings.

Sydnie Schmidt earned the pitching win and had two hits and two runs scored on offense.

Brogan Armagost added a home run in the win.

Butler suffered a sweep at the hands of host North Allegheny.

The Golden Tornado fell by scores of 25-8, 25-16 and 25-11.

Butler (2-2, 1-1) hosts Shaler on Thursday.

Girls Lacrosse

Kate Quinlan, Eliza Drohan, Karolyn Miller and Evelyn Vissari each scored a goal for Butler in a 13-4 loss to Pine-Richland on Monday.

Boys Lacrosse

Seneca Valley lost a 16-8 decision to Pine-Richland on Monday. No other details were available.
