This flag pole base — shaped like a keystone — is left over from when the property at 525 N. Main St. was the Butler American Legion Post 117. In Penn Christian Academy’s “Shark Tank: Think Your Invention Has What It Takes?” in March 2019, fifth-graders created and pitched their inventions to a panel of “sharks.” The projects related to their prior knowledge of models and inventions. While the project was based on the popular television show, it focused more on the invention process and the item invented, rather than the economics of gaining investment and financial backing.
