12:51 p.m. Saturday — Billie J. Plunkard, 44, of Butler was caught allegedly failing to pay for 27 items, valued at a combined $108.75, while using a self-checkout register at the Butler Commons Walmart. Police cited Plunkard for summary retail theft.

1:29 p.m. Feb. 21 — Two students, both 14-year-old girls, got into a fight at the Butler Intermediate High School. One of the girls was charged in Butler County juvenile court with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. The other girl was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for precautionary reasons, but she apparently was not injured.

3:57 p.m. Feb. 20 — Kevin Clapper, 25, of Butler lost control of his mail truck on a patch of snow and ice on Route 8 near the AK Steel entrance and spun into a cement divider. He was not injured.
