Kevin J. Bowser

Kevin J. Bowser, 27, of East Brady, formerly of Bruin, a well known Bruin firefighter, passed away Wednesday from injuries he sustained in a vehicle accident on Seybertown Road in East Brady.

Born July 14, 1991, in Kittanning, Kevin was the son of Barry K. “Bunk” and Melissa Freiters Bowser of Karns City.

Kevin was a 2011 graduate of Karns City High School and had attended Martinsburg Church in Bruin.

He was employed at Steris Applied Sterilization Technology in Saxonburg.

He was a proud and dedicated member and former officer and board member of the Bruin Volunteer Fire Department and had joined the fire department as a junior member at the age of 12.

He enjoyed spending time at the fire station, playing cards, fishing, bowling and the company of his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Austin T. Bowser and his wife, Karlee, of East Brady; a niece, Kenlee Renae Potensky; two nephews, Parker Rian Bowser and Ryker Liam Bowser; his aunt and uncle, with whom he made his home, Shelly and Mark Dinus of East Brady; his maternal stepgrandfather, Milton Schran of Chicora; as well as a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Henry “Heinie” Freiters and Darlene J. Freiters Schran; and his paternal grandparents, Luther B. and Edith M. Bowser.

BOWSER — Friends of Kevin J. Bowser, who died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City.A funeral service will be held from the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Dennis Barger, pastor of the Scrubgrass Stone Church in Emlenton officiating.Interment will be in Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.Members of the Bruin Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a memorial service for their departed brother at 2:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to the Bruin Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
