Police seek person who shot dog Sunday in Concord Twp.

State police are asking for the public's help in finding the person who shot and killed a dog Sunday in Concord Township.

The dog — a German shepherd and Siberian husky mix — was shot in the stomach between 3 and 7 p.m. in the area of its owner's home on the 900 block of Hooker Road, according to a police report.

Investigators said the canine, named “Max,” broke free from his tethered leash and ran away. The owner, a 21-year-old woman, later found the dog underneath her car.

She took the injured animal to an emergency veterinarian in Pittsburgh where it was discovered the dog had been shot.

“The vet was unable to save the dog,” the report said, “and it passed away.”

Police said they have no suspects and the case of animal cruelty remains under investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call Trooper Shawn Milkovich at the Butler barracks at 724-284-8100.
