Dischman on the lam, officials say

Kasey Dischman

The hunt continues for a house arrestee Butler County officials say cut off her electronic monitoring device two weeks ago and fled from her Butler apartment.

Kasey R. Dischman, 32, has been on the lam since Jan. 28 following an apparent risky getaway, according to Doug Ritson, chief county probation officer.

Authorities believe she jumped out of an upstairs window of her North Main Street home, landed on the roof of a burger joint next door and fled after a probation officer showed up for a routine house check.

“She has not been seen since,” Ritson said Wednesday.

Authorities recovered the discarded ankle bracelet on the Burger Hut roof.

But probation officials are not the only ones seeking the defendant. Butler County Judge William Shaffer on Tuesday issued two bench warrants for her after she failed to appear for status conferences in a pair of pending criminal cases.

One of those cases for which Dischman is awaiting trial captured statewide attention after prosecutors charged her with overdosing on heroin while pregnant.

Dischman is on pretrial supervision with electronic monitoring stemming from that case.

When her probation officer knocked on her door two weeks ago, he got no answer, authorities said.
