PITTSBURGH

Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh, which features singers from Butler County, will perform “Let My People Go! A Spiritual Journey Along the Underground Railroad” at 8 p.m. Friday. The concert is a collaboration with Ebenezer Baptist Church, where the concert will take place. The same concert will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Grove City College, and at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at West Virginia University. Butler area performers include Deanna Golden, Holly Furman, Norrie Bastedo, Liana D. Alksnitis Lloyd, Earle Ashbridge and Ed Jaicks.

Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra will give a free concert at 2 p.m. Saturday at Heinz Hall, 600 Penn Ave. The 85 musicians will perform selections including “Mother Goose Suite” by Maurice Ravel and “Enigma Variations” by Edward Elgar. Tickets are free but must be downloaded at www.pyso.org. Advanced students up to and including college-age can apply to audition; deadline is March 25. Live auditions for new members will take place in May.
