SV wrestlers bow at PIAA's

Seneca Valley's wrestling team suffered a pair of PIAA Class AAA tournament losses Friday in Hershey.

The Raiders first fell, 52-11, to defending state champion Bethlehem Catholic in a quarterfinal match.

The Raiders scored an early lead in the quarterfinal when Alejandro Herrera-Rondon earned a technical fall in the first bout at 120 pounds.

Bethlehem Catholic, which recently won the District 11 crown, then reeled off seven straight victories to take a commanding 36-5 edge.

Also earning wins for the Raiders were Patrick Johnson with a 6-5 decision at 182 pounds and Nick Funovits with a 3-2 decision at 220.
