Butler's boys and girls bowling teams clinched section co-championships Wednesday with 7-0 wins over North Allegheny.

Jordyn Graham, a senior, led the Golden Tornado girls with a 670 series and a high game of 279. Sophomore Reegan Malis added a 554 series.

On the boys side, senior Jordan Reges rolled a 664 series with games of 215, 227 and 222. Junior Chris Huff had a 643 series with games of 234 and 226. Senior Cole Thrash had a 611 series.

Both Butler teams advance to the WPIBL team championships next week and both have guaranteed trips to the Pa. Western Regionals in March.

In other action:

Freeport's girls scored a 7-0 win over St. Joseph's while the Yellowjacket boys claimed a 5-2 victory.

Jackie Clark had a 204 game and 550 series to lead the girls win. Mark Livingston rolled a 649 series with games of 219, 214 and 216 for the boys.

David Kinniburgh added a 610 series and games of 219 and 235 for Freeport.

Girls Basketball

Sidney Shemanski scored 20 points as Freeport fell to Fox Chapel, 62-57, on the road.

The Yellowjackets comeback bid fell short after Freeport outscored Fox Chapel 23-17 in the fourth quarter.
