North Catholic teammates hit 1,000 points

Short, Meyers reach plateau as Trojanettes best Burrell, 93-32

North Catholic senior Dani Short and junior Tess Myers both reached the 1,000-point milestone in a 93-40 girls basketball rout of visiting Burrell Monday night.

Short ended the game with 20 points and 10 rebounds while Myers drained 14 points.

Other double-digit scorers for North Catholic included Kylee Lewandowski (19), Belle O'Hara (14) and Sarah Berardelli (10).

The Trojanettes improved to 18-2 overall and 13-0 in section play.

Moniteau 48, Union 38 — Andie Arblaster's 17 points led the Warriors to this KSAC-South win.

Kristin Auvil added 12 points and Aslyn Pry six points, 11 rebounds and four blocks for Moniteau.

Dominika Logue scored 13 for the Damsels.

Seneca Valley 56, Fox Chapel 42 — The Raiders raced out to a 19-4 lead in the first quarter before closing out this section win on the road.

No other details were available.

The Raiders (14-6, 8-5) travel to Butler Thursday.

Mars 49, Armstrong 41 (OT) — The Planets outlasted the visiting River Hawks in this section clash.

Tai Johnson tallied 20 points for the Planets (14-5, 7-4). Alek Johnson added 13 points, including four clutch free throws in overtime, and Ellie Coffield scored 10 points.

Slippery Rock 68, Conneaut 38 — Forward Emma McDermott scored 33 points in this win for the Rockets, who led 37-18 at halftime.

Boys Basketball

Four A-C Valley players reached double figures in points as the Falcons cruised to a 74-41 victory over visiting Cranberry.

Eddie Stevanus scored 20 points to lead the way. Cole Dehart added 13 while Levi Orton and Tanner Merwin both had 12.

Amber Cepec's high game of 217 and series of 540 led Freeport's girls to a 7-0 sweep of Kiski Area.

Jackie Clark added a 213 single for the Yellowjackets.

In the boys' match, Freeport received a 232 game and 612 series from Mark Livingston, but the 'Jackets dropped a 5-2 decision to the Cavaliers.

Blake Olson had a strong night in defeat, rolling single games of 248 and 214 and a series of 595.

Rifle

Butler 798-60x, Plum 791-36x — Butler's shooters were too much for the Mustangs.

Scoring 100 for the Golden Tornado were Andrew Arbanas, Riley Rodgers, Alec Stamm, Kayla Kopelic, Cody Stroup and Max Wertz.
