Challenge Accepted
Grove City College defeated Harvard University to capture the championship in the second annual American History and Western Civilization Challenge Bowl last month at The King’s College in New York City. Grove City College’s team, from left, Elena Peters, Noah Gould and Carolyn Hartwick, who are coached by Jason Edwards, racked up 537 points to the Harvard squad’s 526, securing the lead and ultimate victory by correctly identifying 16th-century Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe. The American Heritage Education Foundation-sponsored event invited four northeastern colleges to vie for the championship. Host school The King’s College and Princeton University were also selected.
