BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

CONCORD PRESBYTERIAN & NORTH WASHINGTON PRESBYTERIAN

Concord Presbyterian Church, 625 Hooker Road, West Sunbury, has a 9:45 a.m. Sunday school followed by an 11 a.m. worship service. The choir meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Just4Kids meets 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

The VBS planning meeting is 7 p.m. Wednesday followed by a Christian education committee meeting.

A progressive dinner for the Concord adult Sunday school class is 4 p.m. Feb. 9.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., celebrates Holy Communion at the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service.

The annual corporation meeting will be Sunday, immediately following the 11 a.m. worship service in the Assembly Room.

EAST BUTLER PRESBYTERIAN

FIRST BAPTIST

Sunday’s service at First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will begin at 9:45 a.m. with Sunday school classes and an 11 a.m. worship service followed by lunch and a 1 p.m. worship service.

Ladies’ Bible study is at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Dittmer home.

The senior class of First Baptist Christian School will have a Valentine’s banquet at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

The Butler Area Lutheran Men’s Group will have a breakfast meeting at 8 a.m. Saturday at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St.

Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m. Following the children’s sermon during the 10 a.m. worship service, the children and their leaders will proceed to the downstairs classroom for children’s church. They return to the service at the Sharing of the Peace.

Identical Bible studies are scheduled at 2 and 7 p.m. Wednesday.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

The men of Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., are invited to the BALM Gathering of Men at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., at 8 a.m. Saturday for breakfast, fellowship and conversation.

Confirmation class follows the Sunday worship service.

Volunteers from Grace @ Calvary will serve the community dinner at First English Lutheran Church on Monday. Volunteers should be at First English by 4 p.m. to help set up and serve the 5 p.m. dinner.

Butler Relay for Life meets at 6 p.m. Monday in the social hall. Grace’s relay team, Marty’s Marchers, is invited.

Ladies’ Night Out is at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at Rock Ann Haven, 141 Greenwood Drive.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., will celebrate the Lord’s Supper at Sunday worship.

Following the congregational meeting, a potluck soup luncheon will be in the fellowship hall. Participants should take a crockpot of soup to share. Rolls, bread and dessert will be provided.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., celebrates Communion at the 8:30 a.m. Sunday worship service.

The buildings and grounds committee meets at 12:15 p.m. Sunday after worship.

Women’s Bible study is 1:30 p.m. Monday in the board room.

Helpers are needed at the youth spaghetti dinner fundraiser. Notify Christian Education or Zach if willing to help.

NIXON UNITED METHODIST

Nixon United Methodist Church, 334 Airport Road, Penn Township, will host a youth group-sponsored chili cook-off immediately following the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service. Attendees should take their favorite chili for tasting. Donations will be accepted for the South Butler School District Angel Food Fund.

Other Sunday worship services include an 8:30 a.m. traditional service and a 7 p.m. modern worship service.

NORTH WASHINGTON PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

North Washington Presbyterian Church, 714 Fairview Road, has a traditional worship service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday followed by Sunday school at 10:45 a.m.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, plans a Feb. 16 spaghetti dinner to raise money for mission projects.

A local school has a need for deodorants, shampoos, conditioners, feminine hygiene products and bath products. Items should be placed in the bin at the church.

The church will host a church volleyball league starting Feb. 10. The church hosts a domestic violence awareness workshop Feb. 11.

ORCHARD HILL BUTLER COUNTY

Orchard Hill Butler County will have a core group gathering at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at 107 Staley Ave., where there will be an opportunity to pray for the Butler community. This will be followed by a 10:30 a.m. worship service.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHEAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Connoquenessing, 100 Main St., celebrates Holy Communion during the Sunday worship service.

There will be a soup pot at the church entrance to accept donations for Souper Bowl Sunday, with donations going to the Evans City Food Cupboard.

The annual congregational meeting and catered luncheon follows the Sunday worship service.

The February cause of the month is the Evans City Food Cupboard.

ST. JOHN’S UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City, celebrates Communion during worship Sunday.

Consistory meets after the worship service, and the bell choir will practice after worship.

The praise team practices at 6 p.m. Wednesday followed by choir practice at 7 p.m.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

Senior high teens of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, leave Friday from the church for the Pittsburgh Youth Quake weekend. Take snacks to share. The scheduled return is noon Sunday.

Pastor Matt Geppard of Southeast Asia Prayer Center will be the guest pastor at both services Sunday.

The outreach ministry team will lead the 2 p.m. Sunday service at Elmcroft Assisted Living, 100 Bella Drive, Saxonburg.

Daniel Plan phase 2 meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

All Ministry Night meets at 7 p.m. Monday in Centennial Hall.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, announced the BALM Men’s ministry breakfast will be at 8 a.m. Saturday at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St.

Christian Ed. meets at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The executive committee meets a 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Women’s Bible study will be at 10 a.m. Feb. 7.

Bell choir starts at 7 p.m. Feb. 7.

VALENCIA PRESBYTERIAN

Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., welcomes the Rev. William Jackson to the pulpit for the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service. Communion will be served.
