ERIE — Knoch graduate Matt Karenbauer and Slippery Rock High graduate Barbie Cessar helped Penn State Behrend defeat Pitt-Bradford in swimming meets Monday.

Karenbauer won the 200-yard backstroke in the Behrend men’s 101-47 triumph. Cessar swam a leg of the Lions’ winning 400 medley relay in the women’s 69-21 victory.

BUTLER TWP — Knoch graduate Casey Kretzer set a Butler County Community College women’s basketball record by sinking eight treys in the Pioneers’ 96-63 win at CCBC Monday night.

Kretzer scored 35 points for BC3 (4-8). Mackenzie Craig betted 36 for BC3, pulling within 16 of breaking the program’s career record of 1,093 points, held by Julia Baxter. Craig had 31 rebounds, Carly Burdett 12 points and Jenna Heitzenrater 10 rebounds.

The Pioneer men (6-10) droppeed a 144-85 decision to CCBC. Joel Stutz scored 28 points, Jace Stutz 22 and Andrew Yonker 17.
