Knoch girls hold on for 40-37 victory

Abbey Shearer drained two free throws with five seconds left as the Knoch girls basketball team held off section foe Indiana, 40-37, on the road Monday night.

Nevaeh Ewing led the Knights (8-7, 6-3) with 14 points while Madilyn Boyer added 11.

Knoch plays at Deer Lakes Tuesday night.

Karns City jumped out to a 22-2 lead in the first quarter and cruised to a 75-33 victory at home over Forest Area.

Austin Fahlor paced KC with 21 points and eight rebounds and Chase Beighley added 15 points and seven assists.

Nathan Waltman contributed 13 points and eight boards for the Gremlins (9-5).
