SUMMIT TWP — Three workers at a medical-care facility are accused of abusing a client, according to state police.

Police said they became aware of the abuse after receiving complaints that a client at Lifesteps facility in the 200 block of Headland Road had suspicious injuries between Aug. 8 and Oct. 29.

In a news release on the investigation, state police said “residential aids” are believed to have shoved the victim. Police, contacted Sunday, declined to provide the victim's age.

According to reports, police suspect three people are the abusers and they have named two of them, but withheld the identity of the third person.

Accused are Barbara E. Ion, 56, of Kittanning, and Angel M. Stiteler, 25, of Cabot.

According to Lifesteps' website, the nonprofit provides a variety of care and services for different life stages, including adult day health services, Alzheimer's care, caregiver support, child care, early education, preschool and summer camp.

Lifesteps operates community homes in Butler, Center, Clearfield, Slippery Rock and Summit townships, according to its website.
