[naviga:h3]SRU RB Hills joins Senior Bowl[/naviga:h3]

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University running back Wes Hills has been added to the South roster for the Senior Bowl, slated Jan. 26 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.

The game will air at 2:30 p.m. on NFL Network. Hills is also playing in this Saturday’s NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, slated for 5 p.m. on Fox Sports 1.

Hills will be the only Division II player on the Senior Bowl’s South roster, comprosed primarily of players from the Power Five Division I conferences. He rushed for a school-record 1,714 yards in 2018 despite missing nearly three full games.

[naviga:h3]SV grad Gaviglia among PSAC Top 10[/naviga:h3]

SLIPPERY ROCK — Seneca Valley graduate and Slippery Rock University right tackle Steve Gaviglia has been named a member of the PSAC Top 10 for the fall semester.

Each semester, the PSAC names five male and five female athletes to the top 10. Athletes must maintain a 3.50 grade point average and be a starter or key reserve on their respective teams.

Gaviglia carries a 3.59 GPA as an exercise science major and started 35 games at right tackle, including every game the past two years.

BUTLER TWP — Butler County Community College basketball players Mackenzie Craig and Joel Stutz are within range of the program’s all-time scoring records.

Craig, a Karns City graduate, has 1,042 points and trails Julia Baxter’s women’s record of 1,093 by 52. Stutz, a Butler graduate, has 1,039 points and trails Bryant Lewandowski’s record total of 1,303 by 265.

Saturday’s games against Pitt-Titusvillehave been postponed due to the impending snowstorm.
