Wednesday — Mallory A. Bole, 29, of Center Township was charged with having drugs following a traffic stop around 4 p.m. Jan. 10 at West New Castle Street and Seventh Avenue.

Police found Bole hiding in the trunk underneath the tire cover in the vehicle, which was stopped because there was a warrant out for the owner, according to court documents.

She was arrested after police learned that there was a warrant for her. A subsequent search of her purse, police said, turned up a single pill of alprazolam, for which she did not have a prescription.

Among other contraband seized from the purse were a large amount of empty stamp bags commonly used to package heroin, two metal spoons with white powder residue, two drug-smoking pipes and two scales.

Bole is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Another passenger, James A. Cogley, 40, of Butler Township, was charged with giving police a bogus name during the same traffic stop.

Despite Cogley allegedly giving a phony name, police said, an officer recognized him from past incidents. He is charged with false identification to law enforcement authorities.

Police said Nagowski took merchandise valued at $102.71 between Oct. 11 and Nov. 2 and is now charged with five misdemeanor counts of retail theft.

Jan. 14 — Wendy K. Andrews, 47, of Butler Township was charged with being more than two-and-a-half times the state’s legal limit for alcohol stemming from a December traffic crash on South Main Street near Brose’s Superette.

Police said Andrews struck a parked sport utility vehicle around 2 a.m. Dec. 17 while she was on her cell phone. She allegedly admitted to having two drinks of alcohol.

She subsequently failed field sobriety testing and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.227 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.

Andrews is charged with driving under the influence, careless driving and failing to keep right.

Jan. 14 — Police charged William J. Deangelo, 35, of Butler with DUI in connection with a wreck last month on Blair Drive. He was driving a car around 7:50 p.m. Dec. 25 that hit a parked vehicle and overturned, police said, ending up on its roof.

Police suspected Deangelo had been drinking, but he refused to take any field sobriety tests, according to court documents. But he later submitted to a blood test at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Toxicology results allegedly showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.203 percent.

In addition to DUI, Deangelo is charged with driving at an unsafe speed and careless driving.

6:20 p.m. Tuesday — A young Allegheny County man was arrested on several charges, including violating a protection from abuse order after police found him in a car in the rear parking lot at the Penn Christian Academy School on Airport Road.

Austin G. Heade, 19, of Natrona Heights is accused of being in the vehicle with a 17-year-old girl who had a PFA against him, according to court documents.

The girl told police that Heade had followed her to the location and asked her to get “on board with getting the PFA dropped,” documents said. Court records showed the PFA was issued Nov. 7.

Additionally, the defendant allegedly smoked marijuana in the car, police noted, in the presence of the girl, a minor.

A search of the vehicle turned up a Mason jar containing several suspected marijuana buds and a marijuana pipe.

District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Heade on charges of corruption of minors, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and harassment. He also is charged with the PFA violation.

He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail following arraignment.

Dec. 31 — Cierra P. Kinney, 18, of Zelienople was arraigned on charges that she forged another woman’s check and cashed it for $200 in September. The check was apparently taken from the victim’s home on Forest Trail, where Kinney had recently visited, according to court documents.

Police said Kinney was captured on surveillance video Sept. 1 cashing the check at the Walmart in Cranberry Township.

She is charged with a felony count of forgery and misdemeanor counts of theft by unlawful taking and identity theft. She was released on her own recognizance following arraignment.

When the defendant was asked for his driver’s license and other documents, according to court documents, he handed an officer a debit card. He admitted he had “a couple” drinks of alcohol about two hours earlier, police said.

Moser was arrested after he allegedly failed field sobriety tests. He was taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights, Allegheny County for a blood test.
