On Dec. 27, a K-9 officer performed his duty. Unfortunately that would be the K-9 officer Gunner’s last call to duty. He died that week.

Gunner was a fabulous K-9 officer to Butler city and its police force. My son and I were privileged to meet Gunner at a spagetti dinner at Tanglewood.

When he entered the room, he owned it. His clear eyes could see right through you and know what you were up to.

Gunner was so gentle with the kids. He never stirred.

Butler should be grateful for an awesome K-9 officer. He will be missed. When the Butler police force does receive another K-9 officer, he will have big paws to fill.
