Rocket girls pull away from McDowell

Slippery Rock rallies in 2nd half for win

Hallie Raabe scored 14 points as the Slippery Rock High School girls basketball team overcame a slow start for a 47-34 road win at McDowell Thursday night.

The Rockets (11-3) trailed 21-16 at the half, but held McDowell to just four points in the third quarter to take the lead.

Anna Kadlubek scored 10 of her 13 points in the second half to key the rally for Slippery Rock.

Emma McDermott also scored 11 for the Rockets.

Ben Drake scored 24 points and also had 11 rebound and eight assists, but the First Baptist Christian School boys basketball team fell to Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, 65-51.

Nick Flatt added 15 points and 11 rebounds and Joel MacKay 10 points and seven steals for the Eagles.
