Authority alters bus stop sites in Pittsburgh

Changes take effect Jan. 28

The Butler Transit Authority on Tuesday approved changes to commuter service bus stops in Pittsburgh that will go into effect Jan. 28.

The commuter service will stop making North Shore stops at the North Side and Allegheny T-stations, but stops in downtown and the East Busway and additional trips will be added.

Due to a lack of riders, the North Shore stops will be eliminated, said John Paul, authority executive director.

Passengers wishing to reach the North Shore should disembark at Seventh and Grant streets, proceed to the Steel Plaza Rail Station to take the free light rail T to the North Shore.

The new stops are morning drop-offs at Strawberry Way/Steel Tower and Penn Station at the East Busway. A new afternoon and evening pickup stop at Section D of East Busway also was added. Slight time adjustments will be made to the commuter schedule.
