Congressman Mike Kelly

U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly, R-16, will lead the Republicans on a House oversight subcommittee.

Kelly will serve as a ranking member for the minority party on the oversight subcommittee, which falls under the House Ways and Means committee.

Ways and Means is the main tax-writing entity in the U.S. House of Representatives and Congress’s oldest committee. The oversight subcommittee is meant to put a check on taxing processes as they’re drafted.

“From my new position, I also intend to hold the IRS fully accountable for its practices and its treatment of the American people, along with that of every other federal agency in our jurisdiction,” Kelly said.
