Middle school earns honors
Butler Middle School is one of 158 Title 1 schools recently granted “Distinguished School” honors at a conference in Pittsburgh.
The receiving schools met certain scoring objectives, including scoring within the top five percent for English language arts and math on the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment test.
The 2019 Pennsylvania Title 1 Improving School Performance Conference began Sunday and ends Wednesday.
Title 1 schools receive federal funding to help students in low income areas meet state standards in English, reading and math, according to the state Department of Education.
