Summer baseball returns to Pullman Park

Two Tri-State Collegiate League summer baseball teams — the Pittsburgh Diamond Dawgs and Core Athletics — will be playing their home games at Michelle Krill Field at Pullman Park in Butler this season.

Core Athletics, which will go under a yet to be determined new name, played its home games at Butler County Community College last season and has been in the TSCL for four years. The Diamond Dawgs, a youth baseball development organization, is expanding into collegiate summer ball for the first time.

Both teams will play 16 of their 32 games at Pullman Park. They will replace the Butler BlueSox — who disbanded after last season — as the ballpark’s primary summer tenants.
