[naviga:h3]Maple sugaring workshop slated[/naviga:h3]

BRADY TWP — Jennings Environmental Education Center, 2951 Prospect Road, will have a maple sugaring workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at the center. An optional tour of Jennings’ sugar bush will follow from 1 to 2 p.m.

Registration is required, and the program fills quickly.

The center also will host a maple sugaring day for Scouts on March 2. Scouts will take part in a two-hour program that unravels how a tree works and demonstrates maple sugaring.

This program will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon and again in the afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. Each participating Scout will receive an embroidered patch.

[naviga:h3]Fashion show benefits library[/naviga:h3]

MARS — A fashion show and brunch fundraiser is set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Wildwood Golf Club, 2195 Sample Road, Allison Park, to benefit the Mars Public Library.

There will be a silent auction, a craft and an activity station for the children to try on costumes and have their picture taken.

Models are needed for this event. Parents can participate with their child as a model as well. Clothing will be provided for the fashion show.

[naviga:h3]Fiscal fitness talk scheduled[/naviga:h3]

SAXONBURG — The South Butler Community Library, 240 W. Main St., is offering the first workshop at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in a monthly series to help people manage their money.

Kristen Ricupero of Financial Fitness Coaching talks about how to make your money work for you and not against you by creating a realistic zero-based budget.

The event is free for all ages. Youngsters are welcome during the workshop in the children’s area where there are toys, puzzles, activity sheets and books.

[naviga:h3]DIVAs weekend set for Feb. 1, 2 [/naviga:h3]

WEXFORD — The Woodlands, 134 Shenot Road, will host its annual DIVAs Weekend Feb. 1 and 2 at its campus.

The Woodlands’ staff and special guests will work with participants — girls and young women ages 8 to 29 with a disability or chronic illness — to promote empowerment, self-care and the beauty of diversity.

During the sleepover weekend, each participant will have the option to receive a makeup and hair makeover, craft a pageant sash, take fashion headshots and receive runway coaching.

The Woodlands will host “Barry’s Boutique” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 26 in the Jewel in the Woods Meditation Center.

Each participant may schedule an individual appointment to try on and choose a complimentary gown.
