Police received a call Monday for a domestic incident at a Butler home where a man reportedly pointed a pistol at two women.

The pistol, however, turned out to be a BB gun, city police said.

Butler police, nevertheless, arrested Robert E. Fair, 37, of Butler Township in the incident Monday evening at an apartment on the 300 block of Miller Avenue.

One of the victims, Fair’s girlfriend, told officers that the defendant pushed her, according to a police affidavit, and “pointed a gun at her and taunted her with a large knife.”
