One person was taken to the hospital after a fiery crash this morning on Interstate 79 in northern Butler County, authorities said.

The wreck happened about ‪3:20 a.m.‬ when a  southbound vehicle overturned and caught fire, according to a county dispatcher.

Slippery Rock volunteer firefighters got there and reported the vehicle was “fully involved” in flames but all of the occupants were out. Crews quickly extinguished the blaze.

It was not immediately known how many people were in the vehicle. Slippery Rock EMS took one occupant to Grove City Medical Center with unknown injuries,

State police are investigating but an accident report was not available this morning. Emergency crews were back at their stations about ‪4:30 a.m.‬
