Laverna V. Chick

Laverna V. Chick, 97, of Butler passed away Friday at the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Born Feb. 21, 1921, in Jefferson Township, she was the daughter of Henry Nicholas Strobel and Amelia C. Wagner.

Laverna was a member of Crosswinds Alliance Church.

She enjoyed quilting, gardening and animals.

Surviving are two sons, James (Robin) Chick of Butler and Garry (Nancy) Chick of Port Matilda, Pa.; two grandchildren, Matthew (Abigail) Chick and Katherine (Mark Evans) Chick; one great-granddaughter, Lena; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph G. Chick, who died Nov. 16, 1993; and seven brothers and sisters.
