Betty H. Hart

Betty H. Hart, 93, of Zelienople passed away Monday in the comfort of her home.

Born June 30, 1925, in Jackson Township, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Henshaw and Blanche Nesbitt Henshaw.

Betty graduated from Zelienople High School in 1943.

During World War II, she worked as a secretary at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

She married her sailor, Edward L. Hart, in May of 1945 and they enjoyed 64 years together before his passing in 2009.

She retired from the research division of MSA in Evans City in 1987, after 27 years as a secretary.

Betty was a lifelong member of the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church (HZUMC), where she had been active in helping in various functions. She belonged to the Keenagers and volunteered at the Passavant Retirement Community.

She enjoyed baking cookies, making soup, traveling, spending the winter months in Myrtle Beach, reading and spending time with her family and friends.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Jo Beth (Ken) Kuipers of Hamburg, Pa., Ronald (Georgia) Hart of Warner Robins, Ga., and Randall (Cindy) Hart of Zelienople; her grandchildren, Amy (Melissa Mattson) Kuipers, Chad (Doug Beard) Kuipers, Jonathan (Erin) Hart, Justin (Nikki Mattern) Hart, Heather Hart and Jennifer (Brad) Collins; her grandson-in-law, Lou (Aleia) Morris; her great-grandchildren, Colin, Myles and Tahlia Morris, Benton Mattson, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Hart and Theodore “Theo” Hart; her special friend, Tracy Hoogerbrugge and family; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her sisters, Theda Taylor and Clara Marburger; her brothers, Thomas and Daniel Henshaw; and her granddaughter, Jacquelyn Hart Morris.

HART — Friends of Betty H. Hart, who died Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, will be received from noon until the time of the funeral ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Betty will be laid to rest at English Lutheran Church Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made in her honor to Meals on Wheels, 100 S. High St., Zelienople, PA 16063, or to the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church, 123 N.
