Armstrong Comfort buys plumbing firm

The Butler-based Armstrong Group of Companies — a full-service provider of commercial and residential plumbing, heating and cooling — announced the formation of a new enterprise Tuesday called Armstrong Comfort Solutions.

The company — which is affiliated with national leaders Carrier and Mitsubishi as well as other heating and cooling suppliers, such as State Water Heaters — acquired Evans City’s Kenneth McDonald Plumbing & HVAC in January.

“These skilled employees have been serving the Butler and Cranberry area for over 25 years, and we’re very happy to have them now be a part of the Armstrong team,” said Don Tacik, president of Armstrong Comfort Solutions.

Armstrong will soon begin rolling out its new name and logo as it expands into other communities, while continuing to serve the surrounding areas.

“You’ll be seeing our name and logo on trucks, signs and advertising immediately. We’re very excited to have everyone get to know us as their best choice for HVAC and plumbing,” Tacik said. “Our plan is to be able to increase our customer base here and to look toward serving homes and businesses in other areas. And we hope to earn customers’ trust by bringing the same reliable, timely service they have come to expect from Armstrong.”

The Armstrong Group of Companies was founded in 1946 and is headquartered at 1 Armstrong Place in Butler. Its subsidiaries include Armstrong Utilities, Guardian Protection Services, Armstrong Telephone Company, 4Front Solutions, Armstrong Development Properties, Armstrong Foods and Armstrong Comfort Solutions.
