Old Stone House, near the intersection of Routes 8, 173 and 528, will be the site of the annual Christmas open house from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the historic inn and museum near the intersection of Routes 8, 173 and 528 in Brady Township. Guests can enjoy colonial period musicians and dress, Christmas-themed refreshments, ornament craft making, popcorn stringing, and story time by the fire. Maridon Museum, 322 N. McKean St., with its collection of Asian art and pieces of German Meissen porcelain, is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, and will be closed Dec. 26.

Museum admission is $4 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and students, and free for children younger than 8 accompanied by an adult.

Harmony Museum, 218 Mercer St., Harmony, tours include the 1809 main museum building and wine cellar and a neighboring early 19th century house, both built by the communal Harmony Society, and a Mennonite log house, offered from 1 to 4 p.m. daily, except when the museum is closed Mondays and major holidays. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens age 60 and older, and $3 for youths ages 6 to 17. Call 724-452-7341.

PITTSBURGH

National Aviary, 700 Arch St., will have extended evening hours until 9 p.m. as well as refreshments and music on Dec. 13, 20, 26, 27 and 28. The aviary will also, for the first time, feature light displays on its building and habitats, from December through early January. The aviary is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults and $14 for senior citizens age 60 and older and children ages 2 to 12. Some activities cost extra. Children’s Museum, 10 Children’s Way, Allegheny Square, hosts the 19th annual Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive through Dec. 19. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except holidays. Carnegie Science Center on the North Side presents the Lego exhibit “The Art of the Brick” through Jan. 7. Center hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some movies and shows are later.
