After an almost six-year search The Lighthouse Foundation has found its new home

The Lighthouse Foundation board members cut a ribbon Nov. 15 at the official welcoming event for the new facility located in Valencia.

VALENCIA — It's been an almost six-year process, but The Lighthouse Foundation has finally found its new home.

The food pantry's move to 116 Browns Hill Road last month was celebrated Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, refreshments and tour of the new facility.

In the month since it has been open, The Lighthouse Foundation's new location has served about 700 people.

“We service both northern Allegheny and Butler County,” said Cindy Cipoletti, The Lighthouse Foundation executive director. “We like to be in this area because it's easy access for both. Our previous location was right on Route 8, which was easy for people to find.”

Cipoletti said the new location is perfect “because it's just a little bit south of where we were.”

In addition to being easily found, the new facility is on one-level which is more accessible for clients with special needs — a priority for the foundation. Cipoletti said the process took so long because they were holding out for the perfect place.
