Butler church to shelter those without power overnight
First English Lutheran Church at 241 N. Main St. is opening its doors to the public for overnight stays tonight in Butler.
The church started accepting guests at 7 p.m.
The shelter opening for the night is a joint effort between the American Red Cross and Butler County Emergency Services.
Other shelters around town are offering warm spots to gather, but aren't able to let people stay the night.
Those include:
Adams Township Fire Department at 645 Route 228, Mars, is open until midnight.
Middlesex Fire Department at 130 Browns Hill Road, Valencia, is open until further notice.
Connoquenessing Borough Fire Department at 180 Main Street is open until further notice.
Butler Township Fire Station 3 at 121 Sparks Ave. is open until further notice.
Bruin Fire Department at 100 Firehouse Dr. is open until further notice.
City of Butler Fire Department at 110 North Washington Street is open until further notice.
Saxonburg Fire Department at 210 Horne Ave. is open until further notice.
Eau Claire VFD Social Hall at 137 N Washington.
North Washington Social Hall at 2225 Oneida Valley Road, Petrolia, is open until 9 p.m.
Slippery Rock Bingo Hall at 162 Elm St. is open until further notice.
